Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the liquid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
