I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
